It's a small world

Yesterday was the meeting of the RNA's northern chapter and I was looking forward to meeting fellow crime writer, Avril Field-Taylor. Avril and I have been cyber buddies for a year or more, but we'd never met in person until yesterday. So we were busy chatting away and Avril guessed that I'm not Lancashire born and raised. I explained how I'm originally from Chipping Campden. Avril said she knew that part of the world because she used to live and work in Worcester. "Fancy that," I said. "I used to live and work in Worcester too." It transpires that, years ago, more years than either of us would admit to, we worked in offices three doors away from each other. We walked our dogs - golden retrievers - at the same place. I bet we even spoke to each other. How strange is that?

Today, I've been putting the finishing touches to my new-look newsletter. I know I've been saying this for weeks but it will be going out in the next couple of days. It will, it will. (If you haven't subscribed and would like to, you can do so here.)

So the weekend's come round again and tomorrow is Bonfire Night. Do you have plans? Will you be lighting a bonfire and setting off fireworks? What's the best part? The fireworks? The toffee apples?

Have a good one - and stay safe!
