This Writer's Life...

We're all going on a summer holiday...

Apologies to any of you who are going to have that irritating song stuck in your head for days. But yes, I'm off on holiday. I do vaguely remember what a holiday is. It entails doing absolutely nothing, I seem to recall.

I'd like to tell you that I'm jetting off to the sunshine to spend my days sipping long cold drinks at a quaint little beach bar. Alas. I'm going to be staying in a log cabin in the wilds of North Yorkshire with two dogs. …

Three readers have emailed me this week (always such a thrill to hear from readers!) and said how much they enjoy the settings in my books. The interesting thing is that not one of these readers lives in the UK. Two were from the US and one from Australia. Or perhaps that's not so interesting/surprising as people in the UK think Lancashire and automatically think grim northern towns scattered with old mill chimneys - and rain. …
