Here's a funny thing...

I have a puppy. Did I mention that? Ha. Well, having a puppy is almost a full-time job which means I'm getting very little time for writing. But bizarrely, I'm getting more words written. I know that back when Adam was a lad, when I could only write in the evenings, I was very productive. When I had the luxury of being able to write full-time, the output dropped considerably. I can only assume it's because while I'm doing other things, like stopping a puppy chewing everything, my subconscious is working away on the current story. This means that when I actually get to the computer, the words almost write themselves. It is odd though.

So yes, I'm getting words written but I'm getting precious little time for anything else - like updating this blog, visiting your blogs, and catching up with friends on Facebook and Twitter. So if you've missed me, rest assured that I'm here but I'm somewhat busy trying to make a house puppy-proof.

I didn't do any work over the weekend, but I had a great time. On Saturday evening, we went to see Steve Forbert in concert at Thorner, near Leeds. We've seen him several times and he's always excellent. I've been a fan of his music for longer than I care to remember and he gets better with age. Brilliant!

Last night, we met up with my sister and brother-in-law and went to see Home Service. Fantastic stuff! Linda and Keith have seen the band several times, but it was a first for us. I loved every second of it. Catch them if you can!

And here's another funny thing. An exceptionally lovely funny thing. When we met up with my sister, she handed me a bottle of champagne. How great is that?!? I grabbed the bottle before she could change her mind, but looked at her blankly (well, that sort of thing so rarely happens). "For your anniversary," she said. I continued to look at her blankly. I didn't have a clue what she was talking about. "It's next week, Shirley…" she said. Yes, folks, it's our wedding anniversary next week and, yet again, I'd forgotten all about it. I can't understand why it's so difficult - make that impossible - for me to remember it. I'm going to make a note on my phone and key in a reminder for next year. I'm also going to decide where I want taking to celebrate...

So that's what I've been doing. What about you? Have you had an exciting week or weekend?
