EPIC News

My visitors have gone home, the house feels very quiet and empty and I'm back at my desk - for today, at least. It's always wonderful to catch up with family but the time goes far too quickly.

Now that I've dusted off the desk, I should be getting lots of words done on the current story but I'm too excited to settle to anything. You see, I quickly checked my emails on Saturday morning and one immediately caught my attention. I'll admit to being a little tired, and I'll admit to consuming too much alcohol the night before, but it was so amazing that I had to read it three times before it sank in.

Ta-da!

Silent Witness, which is possibly my favourite Dylan Scott mystery, is an EPIC Finalist. Yes, really!

I am SO excited! I'm not expecting to win as I'm up against very stiff competition but it's such a thrill to be a finalist. (It's just as well I'm not expecting to win because the results won't be announced until March and patience has never been my forte. :o)) You can see details of all finalists in the various categories here.

In other news… Well, I'm sure I must have other news but everything else has been forgotten in the excitement.

I won't forget to wish you Happy Halloween though. Us Brits don't really do a lot at Halloween - this Brit doesn't at least - but I can see that it's becoming far more popular. I've seen more ghosts, zombies and witches falling out of the local pubs this year.

While on the subject of Halloween, at my other hangout, Not Your Usual Suspects, you'll find creepy recipes, including Bread Stick Bones with Blood and Frankenheads, as well as mystery/romantic suspense books up for grabs. Check it out if you have a moment.

That's about it from me. What have you been doing while I've been enjoying time with the family? Anything exciting? Do share.

Happy Halloween!
